GHK-CU

Description

What it is

GHK-Cu is the tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine complexed with copper(II). The GHK sequence occurs naturally in human plasma and has a high affinity for copper ions; the complex is what gives the molecule its characteristic blue colour in solution.

Research context

Studied in matrix biology and dermatological research, including work on copper transport, collagen and extracellular matrix gene expression, and metal-peptide coordination chemistry.

Handling

Supplied lyophilised in a sealed 3 mL vial. Store sealed vials refrigerated and protected from light. Reconstitute with an appropriate sterile diluent immediately before use and keep reconstituted material cold. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
