Description
What it is
SEMA is a synthetic analogue of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), structurally modified for extended stability relative to native GLP-1. It acts as an agonist at the GLP-1 receptor.
Research context
Widely used in metabolic and endocrine research as a reference GLP-1 receptor agonist, including work on receptor binding, downstream signalling and comparative studies against dual- and triple-agonist peptides.
Handling
Supplied lyophilised in a sealed 3 mL vial. Store sealed vials refrigerated and protected from light. Reconstitute with an appropriate sterile diluent immediately before use and keep reconstituted material cold. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
